The Secretariat submits reports and applications to the central government regarding the work of the Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the Office of the Leading Group for Improving Beijing's Role as an International Exchange Center, and organizes and supports meetings of the two institutions. It also organizes and supports major meetings of Beijing on foreign affairs and Hong Kong and Macao affairs.
