On January 24, President Xi Jinping held talks with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, who was on a state visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People. The two heads of state announced that China and Uzbekistan decided to develop an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for the new era, and promote the building of a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future from a higher starting point.

Under the strategic guidance of head-of-state diplomacy, China and Uzbekistan have achieved significant results in various fields through cooperation. Before and during President Mirziyoyev's visit to China, relevant departments of Beijing have established communication with their Uzbekistan counterparts, creating a favorable atmosphere for exchanges and cooperation.

Sister-City Exchanges

Shijingshan District and Olmazor District signed a Letter of Intent to Establish Sister-City Relationship

Abdukakhar Tukhtaev, Mayor of Olmazor District, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, led a delegation to the Shijingshan District and the two districts signed a Letter of Intent to Establish Sister-city Relationship.

The two sides will further enhance people-to-people exchanges and strengthen pragmatic cooperation in such fields as economy, science and technology, sports, and education.

Cooperation in Sci-Tech Innovation

The National Office for Innovation Implementation and Technology Transfer of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the ZGC Science Fiction Industry Innovation Center

Officials in charge of the National Office for Innovation Implementation and Technology Transfer, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, conducted a field visit to the ZGC Science Fiction Industry Innovation Center and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The two sides will engage in extensive cooperation in areas such as incubation of sci-tech projects, technology transfer and commercialization of research results, and exchanges in the science fiction industry.

Economic and Trade Meeting

CCPIT Beijing and Tashkent City Department, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan held a work meeting

The delegation, led by Niyazbekovich, Head of the Tashkent City Department, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, held a work meeting with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing).

The two sides exchanged views on delegation visits, the  conference and exhibition industry, and two-way trade and investment cooperation. Niyazbekovich warmly welcomed Beijing enterprises to visit and invest in Uzbekistan as the country boasts a huge market demand in public infrastructure development, agriculture, food, and other fields.

Educational Cooperation

Sino-Uzbek Educational Forum took place

The Sino-Uzbek Educational Forum took place at Beijing International Studies University. During the forum, the Beijing Declaration on Cooperation Between the Universities of China and Uzbekistan was released.

The forum, themed "Building a China-Uzbekistan Educational Community through Mutual Learning and Win-Win Cooperation", was hosted by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Universities from the two countries engaged in one-on-one communication and signed agreements during the forum, enabling the sharing of experience and resources between the higher education institutions of the two countries and advancing systematic and institutionalized cooperation in higher education.
