International Exchanges on Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture to Promote International Cooperation in Epidemic Prevention and Control

On July 29, Beijing Hengji Health Management and Development Foundation successfully hosted "Explore Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture, Appreciate Chinese Medical Treasure," an international exchange event of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture at Daxing Biomedicine Industrial Base. Officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia and other embassies attended this event.

The host focused on sharing the experience and outcome of the application of Lianhua Qingwen Capsule in the global fight against the COVID-19 with Chinese and foreign guests and promoted Daxing Biomedicine Industrial Base. Dr. Muzaza A.M. Nthele, Health Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in China, showed great interest in the further innovation of TCM Collateral Disease Theory and the active role that the TCM Lianhua Qingwen has played in combatting COVID-19 worldwide. Hamza Embalo, First Counsellor of Embassy of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau in China shared a case of his friend recovering from the illness with TCM treatment and looked forward to equipping people in Guinea-Bissau with TCM knowledge. Abdullah Ravish, Political Counsellor of the Afghan Embassy in China, expressed his hope to further promote cooperation in TCM.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, under the guidance of the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office and Beijing Municipal Health Commission, Beijing Hengji Health Management and Development Foundation has been giving full play to its advantages in resources and has launched Beijing TCM Foreign Aid Action. The Foundation has also cooperated with Yiling Pharmaceutical and many other TCM pharmaceutical enterprises to donate TCM epidemic prevention materials to Brazil, Belarus and other countries. The "China-Brazil Fighting COVID-19 with Traditional Medicine" international anti-epidemic cooperation seminar, composed of a series of meetings hosted by the Foundation, has promoted anti-epidemic cooperation in traditional medicine and achieved positive outcomes.
