To help non-governmental organizations in Beijing held branding activities for people-to-people diplomacy, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and Beijing Women's Federation co-hosted Gender Equality for a Better World-International Youth Action· Beijing 2020 (hereinafter referred to as "Beijing Action 2020"). The theme of the event was "Beijing +25: Inheriting Torch of Gender Equality". Through several online activities including bilingual feature programs with English and Chinese subtitles and special web page in English, Beijing Action 2020 invited participants of the Fourth World Conference on Women to review their experience of attending the event. Participants jointly expressed the determination and expectations for promoting the cause of gender equality. Multilingual promotion programs around the world are also included to further promote the event.

Young volunteers from various countries sent videos to share their thoughts and called for the coordinated promotion of gender equality. Participants include Gertrude Mugwe Mongella from Tanzania, granddaughter of Ms. Gertrude Mongella, Secretary General of the FWCW, and young volunteers from countries such as Nepal and Costa Rica.

Since 2014, the "Gender Equality for a Better World" International Youth Action Beijing event has been held six times, with an aim of commemorating the Fourth World Conference on Women (FWCW) held in Beijing and inheriting the spirit of the FWCW. Since 2014, the "Beijing Action" has recruited young Chinese and foreign volunteers to come to Beijing to attend thematic seminars, serve as volunteers, and carry out a series of activities to promote the concept of gender equality. Hundreds of Chinese and foreign volunteers and thousands of young people from more than 35 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas have participated in the activity. During the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in 2019, the "Beijing Action" was exhibited at the thematic forum of closer people-to-people ties.
