Beijing Design Week 2020 is scheduled to run from September 22 to October 7. The venues for the event include China Millennium Monument, the National Agricultural Exhibition Center, Beijing City of Design Plaza, sub-venues in Beijing's various districts, Tianjin and Hebei, and other locations approved by the Organizing Committee. This year's design week is themed on “Dimensions of Livelihood.”

Beijing Design Week 2020 will have five components, including Professional Activities, Public Activities, Industrial Cooperation, Professional Competitions, and Service Platforms. Among them, the Professional Activities segment will include the Beijing Design Awards review, the theme exhibition “Dimensions of Livelihood – Design Innovation in Targeted Poverty Alleviation,” Beijing Design Forum, and the publication of China Design Yearbook 2019-2020. The Public Activities segment will include the Beijing Design Awards ceremony, Design Night, Beijing Design Expo, Guest of Honor City Activities and Design Hop.

The Industrial Cooperation segment will integrate design and industry in five areas: urban design, cultural and creative design, video design, fashion design, and industrial design. Based on the needs of the Organizing Committee and participants, the Professional Competitions will bring together innovative entries and promote the commercialization of winning designs. The preliminary design competition will be carried out in four areas: urban renewal design, cultural and creative product design, living space design, and filming and TV arts design.

The Service Platforms segment will launch a design industry service platform, an authorization platform for Beijing cultural and tourist product designs, and a Beijing Design Center for the Beijing Design Week.
