On April 11, 2022, a plenary meeting of the Leading Group for Improving Daxing District's Role in Building the Center for International Exchanges and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Daxing District Committee was held. Wang Youguo, Secretary of the CPC Daxing District Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Liu Xueliang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Daxing District Committee and District Mayor, attended the meeting.

The meeting underscored the importance of keeping the big picture in mind, following the right path and shouldering the responsibility for local development. All departments of the district should enhance political awareness in planning district foreign affairs concerning the Party and state's interest, contribute to building the center for international exchanges and usher in the 20th CPC National Congress with concrete actions.

The meeting called for giving full play to the Daxing International Airport and the Airport Economic Zone, leveraging the favorable policies of the "two zones", attracting high quality resources and advancing international cooperation. Daxing should innovate in its self-promotion methods and improve its ability in international communication so as to fully demonstrate major progress and achievements in growing more international.

According to the meeting, competent authorities in Daxing District should analyse indicators set for the monitoring and evaluation system and align with municipal departments. The authorities must fully understand the evaluation standards and the course of development for better performance. Furthermore, they should assess their performance based on the indicators of the system to identify and overcome their weaknesses. In this way, Daxing District's role could be improved across the board in building the center for international exchanges.

At the meeting, attendees listened to the report on the work of the Leading Group for Improving Daxing District's Role in Building the Center for International Exchanges and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Daxing District Committee in 2021. The attendees also reviewed and adopted the priorities set for 2022 and Daxing's tasks in the Plan for Improving Beijing's Role as the Center for International Exchanges during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period. Adjustments were made in the members of the Leading Group for Improving Daxing District's Role in Building the Center for International Exchanges and its member units of the office as well as members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Daxing District Committee and its member units.
