Beijing has recently started COVID-19 vaccination for foreigners in the city. Following the principle of voluntary application, giving informed consent and assuming personal responsibility for risk, foreigners aged 18 and above can register for vaccination through their employer or residential community. After appointments are made, foreigners can take the jab nearby as arranged by local authorities.

Some foreigners in Beijing have expressed hopes for receiving China-produced vaccine due to concern about personal health or job requirements. According to the requirements of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council, to build immune barrier to the best of our abilities, following the principle of life above all else, Beijing will start vaccination for foreigners in the city.

Foreign nationals who have joined Beijing's social medical insurance scheme may get vaccinated for free by presenting due insurance documents at the vaccination site. Those without such insurance should pay for the vaccination. Valid identity documents are required for appointment. Valid passports and residence permits should be provided at the vaccination site.

It is learnt that Chaoyang, Tongzhou and some other districts have organized vaccination for foreign employees of enterprises and foreigners in residential communities. More than 2,000 foreigners in the city have received the first dose of vaccine.
