Today, Beijing released its special plan for strengthening its role as the country’s center for international exchanges. The plan proposes to build a spatial pattern of international exchanges that consists of a functional core area and two axes (i.e., the Central Axis and its extensions, and Chang’an Avenue and its extensions) and involves multiple sections of the city. In addition, six functional platforms that serve major national events and bring together high-end international resources will also be created.
