The first video meeting between the Beijing Municipal Party Committee School (Beijing Administration Institute) and the LPRP Party School of Vientiane (Vientiane School of Politics and Public Administration) was held on January 7th. More than 10 representatives from the party schools and foreign affairs departments of the two cities attended the conference.

Representatives of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee School mainly introduced the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee to Laotian representatives, highlighting the historic progress and transformation China has seen in the centenary of the CPC, especially since the Party’s 18th National Congress. They also displayed their willingness to enhance academic cooperation and exchange with the Laotian side, and readiness to carry out mutual visits after the pandemic is ended.

Panshavan Erabemi, deputy head of the LPRP Party School of Vientiane, spoke highly of the extraordinary achievements made by the Communist Party of China over the past 100 years. He expressed his willingness to have friendly exchanges with the Beijing Municipal Party Committee School following the guiding principle of “Four Good” (China and Laos being each other’s good comrade, good partner, good neighbour and good friend), and expand the pragmatic cooperation between the two sides to cover more areas.

The two sides also briefed each other on their own history, function, positioning, curriculum design and campus facilities, laying the foundation for enhancing mutual trust and cooperation.

Vientiane is the capital city and political, economic, cultural, educational center of Laos. In April 2015, Beijing and Vientiane officially established sister city relationship. Since then, the two cities have been deepening their exchanges and cooperation in many fields, such as culture, youth exchange, urban administration and infrastructure development. Exchanges and cooperation in Party building conducted by the two institutes will play a positive role in promoting interaction between the two cities.
