The Berlin Tegel Airport plans to temporarily close starting from June 15, according to news from the Chinese Embassy in Germany.
A spokesperson of the Finance Department of Berlin city government announced that the shareholders' meeting attended by the federal government, the City of Berlin and the State of Brandenburg reached the agreement to shut down the Berlin Tegel Airport for two months starting from June 15. Necessary documents have been submitted to the aviation authority.
The airport is a major aviation hub of the city and the decision to temporarily shut it down was driven by the income nosedive caused by the epidemic.
