Beijing Botanical Garden and Turkmen Agricultural University signed a memorandum of cooperation online on December 11, 2020. This is one of the major events marking the 25th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan recognized by the United Nations.

The memorandum aims to establish friendly cooperation between the two sides to jointly improve exchange of experience and information in plant conservation, scientific research, science education, improvement of horticultural systems and so on. It was signed by He Ran, Director of Beijing Botanical Garden, and Myradov Dowletgeldi, President of Turkmen Agricultural University.

Know more about the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan: The United Nations General Assembly adopted a special resolution on December 12, 1995, confirming the status of Turkmenistan as a permanently neutral state. On December 27 of the same year, Turkmenistan adopted the Constitutional Act on Permanent Neutrality. Since then, permanent neutrality has remained a fundamental state policy of Turkmenistan for 25 years. On December 12, 2020, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a letter to Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, congratulating Turkmenistan on the 25th anniversary of its permanent neutrality status.
