On January 13, 2021, Inspector Yin Fei of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office exchanged views with Alenka Suhadolnik, Ambassador of Slovenia to China, on exchanges and cooperation between Beijing and local governments of Slovenia. Boštjan Malovrh, Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Beijing, also attended the meeting.

Ambassador Alenka Suhadolnik saw great prospects for the cooperation between China and Slovenia. As Slovenia will hold the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union in the next half of this year, and the next year is the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Slovenia, she believed that the two countries face important opportunities to deepen exchanges between local governments. The capital city of Slovenia, Ljubljana, attaches great importance to friendly exchanges with Beijing, and looks forward to practical cooperation with Beijing in fields such as green economy, smart city, culture and tourism. Alenka Suhadolnik expressed her hope for cooperation between the capital cities of China and Slovenia and invited Beijing to participate in the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of China-Slovenia diplomatic ties. 

Yin Fei thanked Ambassador Alenka Suhadolnik for her advice, saying that Beijing would deepen practical cooperation with Ljubljana. The Municipal Foreign Affairs Office will create exchange and demonstration platforms for various sectors of the two cities. Slovenian companies, education and research institutions and other organizations are welcome to grasp the opportunities arising from Beijing's endeavor to build "four centers," "two zones" and "three platforms"and the Beijing 2022 Games, which will bring the cooperation between the two sides to a new height.
