From July 5 to 11, the "Future Leader, Youth Ambassador: 2021 International Youth Social Practice Summer Camp", co-sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and the Beijing Municipal Committee of Communist Youth League of China, was held. The camp was attended by 100 Chinese and foreign youths from 10 universities in 37 countries, including Tsinghua University and Beijing Normal University.

In the camp, young Chinese and foreign students were divided into five groups to carry out social practice activities in the themes of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, development of western Beijing, subdistrict reshaping, cultural innovation, and traditional villages, to get a multifaceted and comprehensive understanding of the real Beijing and China at large. The students went to the Xiangshan Revolutionary Memorial Hall to visit the historical exhibition of the Communist Party of China leading the Chinese people to win the national victory and learn about the glorious history of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. They visited the New Shougang High-End Industrial Integrated Service Area, Shijingshan Citizen Ice and Snow Sports Center and Yanqing TusStar Sports Park to study the impact of the Winter Olympics on the development of Beijing's ice and snow industry. They visited Wangjing Subdistrict, Gucheng Subdistrict and Baiquan Subdistrict, and studied Cuandixia Village in Mentougou District, Nanjiao Village in Fangshan District and Folk Culture Village in Shunyi District to gain a better understanding of the development of the countryside. They experienced "fan making", "Han Dynasty clothing", "mandarin button making" and other cultural forms. They visited the 798 Art District, Beijing Quanyechang Culture and Art Center and Qianmen Dashilar to experience the charming Chinese culture. They visited high-tech enterprises such as Huawei and SENSORO to learn about the Internet of Things and smart cities and to better understand the latest trends of Beijing's technological development. The young students from Pakistan, Burundi, Mexico and other countries commented that the event was diverse and informative and that it was a valuable experience to engage with the grassroots and to better understand Beijing. They expressed their willingness to continue to be youthful ambassadors of Sino-foreign friendship in their future study, life and work.

The "Future Leader, Youth Ambassador: International Youth Social Practice Summer Camp" was first held in 2014, and has been held six times since then, attracting more than 1,000 Chinese and foreign youths from more than 60 countries in total. The event has created a good atmosphere for Chinese and foreign youths to learn from each other and make progress together, and has been widely praised by foreign young people.
