The 2021 ZGC Forum was held in Beijing from September 24 to 28. Beijing Foreign Affairs Office actively encouraged social organizations to attend the forum and give full play to their strengths and expertise in the development of the "Two Zones" and "Three Forums."

On the "World Green Design Forum" hosted by the Dragon Design Foundation, government representatives from China, Italy, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Belgium among other countries, international organizations, industry associations, green design professionals, entrepreneurs and media exchanged views on "green design for carbon neutrality", in a bid to promote exchange and cooperation in green and low-carbon development, digital intelligence, international trade and investment.

Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges, The Z-Park Smart Energy Industry Alliance and Beijing Minhe Foundation for International Exchanges co-hosted the "AI+ Energy" sub-forum on the theme of "Smart Energy and High-Quality Development." It is the third "AI+" sub-forum under the framework of ZGC Forum hosted by Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges, following the "AI+ Health" in 2019 and "AI+ Transportation" in 2020. The forum aims to mobilize resources from all sectors of the society to facilitate China's energy transformation and the high-quality development of Beijing.

The sub-forum attracted extensive participation and wide attention from domestic and foreign energy sectors and the whole society. In addition to the on-site event held at the Zhongguancun National Innovation Demonstration Zone Exhibition Center, seven parallel sessions have been organized at home and abroad via online platforms. More than 20,000 participants from China, Canada, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Hungary, Pakistan, France, Germany, Nepal, Thailand, and the United States joined the event online, including energy experts, heads of international organizations and associations, business leaders, and diplomatic envoys in China.
