On July 29 and 30, 2020, approved by the municipal government and organized by China General Chamber of Commerce, the 24th Annual Meeting of ISO/TC 34/SC 6 (Meat, poultry, fish, eggs and their products) was held in the form of teleconference. Eighty representatives from China, the United States, Russia and 14 other member states and World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) attended the meeting.

With the coordination of China General Chamber of Commerce, Chinese institutions concerned formulated and revised eight international standards in this area, and these standards were widely recognized on this year's annual meeting. Representatives unanimously agreed that with some improvement, they can be submitted to ISO for a vote. This is the first time that China has ever formulated and revised international standards in this area. At the annual meeting, representatives reviewed and approved the ISO/TC 34/SC 6 Secretariat's work report made by China General Chamber of Commerce, discussed six new international standards proposed by China, and showed interests and support for these proposals.

The Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, as a management agency of foreign affairs related to Beijing-based industry associations and chambers of commerce, has consistently supported China General Chamber of Commerce and other national associations in expanding their international exchanges, taking part in the formulation of international standards and promoting international cooperation in related areas.
