Beijing Zhicheng Migrant Workers' Legal Aid and Research Center and two other NGOs in Beijing participated via video link in the 44th session of United Nations Human Rights Council held in Geneva, Switzerland from June 30 to July 17. During the session, they shared with the participants China's experience and achievements in protecting the right to life, the right to health, as well as the legal rights and interests of disadvantaged groups, and in promoting human rights progress through poverty reduction and eradication as the country combats the COVID-19 epidemic. They also talked about the practices regarding the socialist human rights development path with Chinese characteristics and the people-centered human rights concept, which were widely acknowledged and commended.

In recent years, Beijing-based NGOs have participated in a series of important international conferences such as meetings of the Human Rights Council, UN Climate Change Conference and China-Africa Private Sector Cooperation  Forum. By leveraging their professional strengths, they have demonstrated the positive image and sense of responsibility of Chinese NGOs.
