The Beijing Foreign Affairs Office has taken concrete steps to implement the theoretical study program of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. With guidance from Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, and the Philosophy Diplomacy for the People, the Office organized a series of Consular Protection Lectures around May 1. These lectures focused on issues related to the safety of overseas travel for the general public and businesses, providing valuable and applicable consular protection knowledge to schools and enterprises, thus establishing a proactive safety net for the protection of citizens overseas.

Into Schools

A consular protection lecture was held at Beijing Luhe International Academy, with a focus on addressing the concerns of teachers and students. Through the use of the systematic promotion and education efforts on consular protection, the lecture invited experts to deliver safety knowledge about studying abroad and answer questions on-site. These efforts were aimed at helping students learn how to stay safe while studying abroad, thereby effectively improving their awareness and ability to prevent risks.

Into Businesses

Beijing Electronics Holding Co., Ltd. is a Sino-foreign joint venture with a significant export business and frequent overseas travel for its employees. To ensure its international business development and safe travel for its staff, a consular protection lecture was customized to meet their needs. Experts in consular protection provided a tailor-made and practical lecture on overseas travel safety, helping the enterprise achieve great success overseas while maintaining safety and security.

Into Science Parks

In an effort to improve the effectiveness of consular protection services, the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office, in collaboration with the Foreign Affairs Office of Xicheng District, held a special event to promote international exchanges among enterprises. The event took place at the Zhuangguancun Science Park Xicheng Park and included a variety of activities, such as policy interpretation, interactive Q&A, and knowledge lectures. Over 200 enterprises attended and praised the event for providing professional consular protection knowledge and services in close proximity to their workplaces. Many expressed a desire for similar events to be held regularly in the future.

In March of this year, the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office released the results of its systematic promotion and education efforts on consular protection. The consular protection lecture is an important channel for implementing these achievements. With standardized curriculum guidance and the cooperation of high-level teaching staff and diversified teaching products, the series provides citizens with overseas safety knowledge and supports enterprises going abroad. Going forward, the Office will continue to apply the results of systematic promotion and education efforts on consular protection through different forms, delivering benefits to more citizens and enterprises and serving the development of the capital in the new era.
