As the season for studying abroad draws near, on June 18th, the 5th monthly lecture on consular protection for the year 2021 was held online. Well-known overseas security experts were invited to introduce consular protection knowledge and key safety matters for overseas study to teachers and students of the International Department of the Second High School Attached to Beijing Normal University as well as parents of the students. A total of nearly 300 teachers, students and parents participated.

Sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, the monthly lecture on consular protection is aimed at facilitating the learning and education on the history of the Communist Party of China, actively putting into practice the activity of "I do practical things for the people", furnishing grassroots units and units in the forefront with more fine resources in foreign affairs, and delivering consular protection knowledge to all people who need it so that down-to-earth services can be offered to the general public.

Basic knowledge of consular protection, overseas personal safety management, scientific epidemic prevention overseas, and the "Spring Sprout" program featured the lecture. The experts also underlined the current situation for studying abroad and the main risks facing overseas students, and put forward targeted countermeasures. The experts warned that students should keep safety awareness in mind at every moment when studying abroad to bring down unnecessary injuries.

The lecture won wide acclaim among teachers, students and parents, who all said that it was arranged in time and the content was practical and that it was a good learning opportunity for everyone.
