Foreign Affairs Office and the department of coordinated administrative law enforcement for urban management of Fengtai District jointly carried out an inspection campaign to improve the foreign language signs in Beijing Garden Expo Park. It was part of the efforts to fully implement the Regulations of Beijing Municipality on Fostering A More International Language Environment and continue to improve Fengtai District's role in building the center for international exchanges.

The staff checked the translation of Notice to Visitors, Tourist Attraction Guide and other signs to ensure they were fully compliant with the Guidelines for the Use of English for Public Signs. They decided that the foreign language signs in the Beijing Garden Expo Park were installed and used in conformity with the relevant requirements, and that the bilingual signs introducing the tourist attractions were informative with standard language. For some old or damaged signs, the park was urged to replace them within a specified time frame.

In recent years, Fengtai District has conducted regular inspections of foreign language signs in key locations such as cultural and tourism facilities, transportation hubs, and star-rated hotels, in an effort to foster a more international language environment, contribute to the improvement of Beijing's role as the center for international exchanges, and build a beautiful and internationalized Fengtai.
