On May 11, the third offline error correction activity for "Foreign Language Signage Improvement Month", co-organized by Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Beijing Radio Television Station and Beijing Foreign Studies University, hosted by Beijing Yanqing District Foreign Affairs Office, was carried out in Yanqing District.

Ren Wen, Dean of the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Zhu Yuan, member of the Expert Advisory Group of Beijing Municipality on Foreign Language Usage, as well as volunteers and relevant departments of Yanqing District, visited New China Life Insurance Company Ltd., and Beijing Expo Park to check the foreign language signs on site. The experts and volunteers examined the epidemic prevention signs of the hotels' lobbies, bilingual guide signs, and the overview map of the park along the way. They unanimously agreed that "the foreign language signs in the Beijing Expo Park are generally standardized, while some of the English signs of on-sale items contain mistakes and need to be optimized."

As one of the three major competition areas for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Yanqing plays an important role in improving the international language environment and inspiring numerous citizens to actively participate. Therefore, to better serve preparations for the XXIV Winter Games, after the on-site error correction, the officials from Yanqing District said that they will carefully sort out the revision suggestions and the improvement proposals from the experts and volunteers, and arrange the next-step work accordingly, displaying Yanqing of "international style".

Officially launched on April 18 in the New Shougang Park, the "Foreign Language Signage Improvement Month" campaign is one of the important measures to implement the Special Action Plan of Beijing Municipality for Creating a Better International Language Environment for the Winter Olympics. So far, three offline error correction activities have been successfully held, attracting more than 50 volunteers to participate in.
