Regulations and Rules of Beijing (1949-2020) in English and Chinese languages compiled and printed by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice has recently been officially released to the public. This collection is the first systematic compilation of the currently effective local regulations and  rules of Beijing since the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949.

To guarantee and promote the implementation of the Regulation of Beijing Municipality on Optimizing Doing Business Environment, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice officially initiated the compilation of Regulations and Rules of Beijing (1949-2020) in English and Chinese languages last year. It is intended to assist the move to develop Beijing as the national political center, the national cultural center, the center for international exchanges and the center for science and technological innovation, accelerate the effort of building Beijing into a capital city for examplery practice and rule of law, and fulfill the promise of delivering practical services for the public.

Divided into 361 sets in five volumes, the bilingual collection includes all currently effective local regulations and government rules of Beijing from October 1, 1949 to December 31, 2020.

For the convenience of citizens, the collection has been distributed and accessible in three channels. The printed copies have been distributed for free to various departments, district governments, colleges and research institutions, or collected by major public liabraries and college liabraries for free reference, while its electronic copy is now open to the public free of charge, downloadable via the website of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice.
