Beijing Implements 251 "Two Zones" Related Tasks

On January 19, at the press conference on Beijing's economic performance in 2021, Zhu Yannan, deputy director-general and spokesperson of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, introduced that all 251 tasks set out in the plan for the development of the two zones had been implemented.

From January to November 2021, Beijing further opened up its service industry. The revenues of enterprises above designated size in key areas registered a two-year average growth rate of 10%. The revenues of industrial and service enterprises above designated size in the Pilot Free Trade Zone grew by a two-year average growth rate of 11.4%. Both were higher than the average rate of enterprises above designated size.

"Ten special campaigns" were launched to better meet the consumption demands. A total of 901 first stores (including flagship stories) opened in Beijing throughout the year, nearly 5 times that of the previous year. New consumption patterns emerged rapidly. The online sales of wholesale and retail businesses, as well as accommodation and catering businesses above designated size accounted for more than 1/3 of the city's total retail sales of consumer goods, increased 4.1 percentage points over the previous year. From January to November, business revenues in online gaming, online entertaining and online sports grew over 20% year-on-year.

The flow of factors across Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Province quickened. The annual turnover of technology contracts transferred from Beijing to Tianjin and Hebei was 35.04 billion yuan. From January to November, Tianjin attracted investments worth 127.7 billion yuan from Beijing, which accounted for nearly 40% of its introduction of domestic capital. The integrated development of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center and three northern counties of Langfang, Hebei, progressed steadily. A total of 39 new projects were signed with intended investment of 24.7 billion yuan.
