On November 5th, during the Third China International Import Expo (CIIE), the Beijing trade group held a promotional event under the theme of "Creating the New Chapter of Beijing's Opening-up", and invited merchants at home and abroad to invest in Beijing. This event has promoted the signing of the deals of seven projects totaling around 7.88 billion CNY among relevant organizations and enterprises at home and abroad.

This year, the themed promotional event focused on the following aspects: the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), and the newest policies and measures on the construction of the National Comprehensive Demonstration Zone for Further Opening-Up of the Service Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (collectively referred to as the "Two Zones"); the latest development of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games; and major areas such as Xicheng District, Chaoyang District, Haidian District, Fengtai District, Tongzhou District, Shunyi District, Daxing District and the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area and their polices on opening-up and innovation. By centering around the introduction of these aspects, the themed promotional event fully displayed the advantages of the CIFTIS as a platform for the sharing of business opportunities, and the opportunities brought by the opening-up and development of Beijing's service sector and trade in service.

Yan Ligang, Director of the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, noted that not long ago the State Council successively released the Plan for Building the National Comprehensive Demonstration Zone for Further Opening-Up of the Service Sector Through the Comprehensive Pilot Program for Further Opening up Beijing's Service Sector, and the Master Plan for the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone, which was a major event of the reform and opening-up process, and a significant strategic opportunity. The Daxing International Airport Area of China (Hebei) Pilot Free Trade Zone, approved by the State Council in 2019, includes an area of 9.97 square kilometers that belongs to Beijing, which has made Beijing the only city in China that enjoys policies of two Pilot Free Trade Zones.

The themed promotional event has attracted a total of more than 150 representatives from three international organizations including the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the New Development Bank, 14 embassies to China such as the embassies of Ireland, Denmark, Thailand, the Philippines, 10 overseas chambers of commerce, associations and organizations, more than 30 international companies such as Bayer, PwC and Emerson, and some centrally-administered state-owned enterprises.
