At a special event of the 24th Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium on Beijing-HK cooperation for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) on December 6, Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform issued Beijing’s Five-year Action Plan on High-quality BRI Development (2021-2025). It puts forward Beijing’s overall objectives and main tasks under the BRI framework during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, with 89 tasks in 6 categories specified.

In the next five years, Beijing will focus on building the innovative Silk Road, the digital Silk Road, the green Silk Road, and the health Silk Road, establish platforms dedicated to five areas, including international exchanges, technological cooperation, economic and trade investment, cultural exchanges and comprehensive services, so as to play an exemplary role and make our own contribution to promoting high-quality BRI development.
