October 29, Silk Road Industry and Financial International Alliance
(SIFIA), China Smart Energy Industry Alliance (CSEIA) and Georgian
embassy in China jointly held a project promotion event in Beijing.
Georgian Ambassador to China Archil Kalandia, Executive Vice
President of SIFIA Han Yong, and Vice Secretary-General of CSEIA He
Ran, as well as representatives from more than 20 alliance members
participated in the promotion event.
The
event was aimed to deepen the mutual understanding between local
enterprises and Georgia and jointly advance China-Georgia cooperation
under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Participants said the
promotion event provided an opportunity for them to talk face-to-face
with the Georgian government and helped them gain a better
understanding of the investment and cooperation situation in the
country.
Han
Yong said that SIFIA is committed to integrating industrial and
financial resources between China and foreign countries, and
facilitating the BRI construction in terms of planning cooperation,
industrial/financial cooperation, survey and research, consulting
services, conference and exhibition, specialized training, and
protection of rights and interests. He Ran noted in his speech that
CSEIA expects to become a professional and authoritative platform
with global influence for the resource integration and shared
development of smart energy industry.
Georgian
Ambassador to China was introducing the investment environment in
Georgia.

"The
overall business environment in Georgia is improving notably. We
welcome Chinese enterprises to do business in Georgia," said
Ambassador Archil Kalandia. He introduced the economic status in the
country and its preferential trade system, investor-friendly tax
system, and subsidy policies, with the focus on such investment areas
as hotel and real estate, regional logistics and transportation,
manufacturing, energy, and business process outsourcing (BPO). The
ambassador also added that Georgia will build the Anaklia Deep Sea
Port into a trading center on the New Silk Road.

At the promotion event, representatives from various companies asked the ambassador questions about prospective areas of cooperation and they held targeted discussions about regional transportation, post-pandemic tourism cooperation, etc.
