On August 24, the 2nd "Beijing – A Global City" Short Video Contest, hosted by Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and undertaken by China Radio International (CRI) Online of China Media Group, was officially launched.

The Contest organized 6 offline themed shooting events themed on urban renewal and the Winter Olympic Games, Beijing's service to major diplomatic and foreign-related events, international environment and services, international cooperation in technological innovation, innovation and entrepreneurship of international talents in Beijing and international education.

1. The 1st Themed Shooting Event of the 2nd "Beijing – A Global City" Short Video Contest: Foreign Reporters Visit New Landmarks in Beijing's Urban Renewal

On August 24, foreign journalists from 27 countries including Egypt, Colombia, South Africa, Thailand, and Uzbekistan, visited Shougang Park, the new landmark of urban renewal in Beijing.

2. The 2nd Themed Shooting Event of the 2nd "Beijing – A Global City" Short Video Contest: What Keeps Diplomats in China Taking Photos?

On September 9, diplomats from six countries in Asia, South America, and Africa, including Mongolia, and Azerbaijan, visited the Central Gifts and Artifacts Center of China for the exhibition: the Gift of Friendship - from Past Ties to a Shared Future – Exhibition of Diplomatic Received by China's Leaders to experience the history of candid communication, profound friendship, cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and other countries.

3. The 3rd Themed Shooting Event of the 2nd "Beijing – A Global City" Short Video Contest: An Encounter with Taikoo Li

On September 8, combined with the Media Training Program for the Development of Beijing as the Center of International Affairs and Exchanges, around 60 cadres from relevant departments of Beijing visited Taikoo Li in Chaoyang District to explore the details and meaning of Beijing as a global city.

4. The 4th Themed Shooting Event of the 2nd "Beijing – A Global City" Short Video Contest: What Keeps the International Journalists fascinated?

On September 14, under the theme of bringing together international resources for international cooperation, journalists from 16 countries in the Eurasian and Arab region were invited to visit the Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park, Shine Hills and Hanov Group in Shunyi District.

5. The 5th Themed Shooting Event of the 2nd "Beijing – A Global City" Short Video Contest: Technology Parks in Beijing

On September 20, with the theme of deepening international cooperation in science and technology innovation and facilitating international talents' start-up in Beijing, more than 20 international students from Beijing University of Technology and Beijing Technology and Business University paid a visit to Zhongguancun Dongsheng Science Park and Dongsheng International Science Park, Haidian District to film on site.

6. The 6th Themed Shooting Event of the 2nd "Beijing – A Global City" Short Video Contest: Hello, International Schools

On September 22, international experts and students from 11 countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, Pakistan and Morocco, who are in Beijing, visited Springboard International Bilingual School in Shunyi District, and Beijing Huijia Private School in Changping District to learn about the development of international public services and international education.

In response to the requests of fans and short video enthusiasts and in order to better present the role of Beijing as a global city, the deadline for submissions to the 2nd "Beijing – A Global City" Short Video Contest has been extended to November 10.

Eligible participants may submit the videos via Kuaishou, a short video platform, and publish it with the hashtag #2022北京国际范儿# ("Beijing – A Global City"). Meanwhile, please send the original file, the name and introduction of the file, and the author information (name, employment and contact) of the video to the email address of the organizing committee (beijingvideos@cri.cn) for further communication.
