On July 13, the UK Business Dialogue with Beijing Municipal Government & Promotion of Beijing Lize Financial Business District was held in the Lize Financial Business District. Jointly organized by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council, the government of Fengtai District, and the China-Britain Business Council, the event was aimed to help create a better business environment in Beijing by building a promotion platform for policies related to the "Two Zones", promoting the Lize Financial Business District, and facilitating dialogue between government and business so that the government could have a clearer understanding of key needs of foreign-invested enterprises as they do business in Beijing.

Officials from eight municipal government departments, including the Leading Group Office of the "Two Zones" Development, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the Beijing Local Financial Supervision and Administration, gave presentations on the city's opening-up policies and preferential policies for enterprises, especially those related to the "Two Zones", to more than 40 representatives of UK-funded companies in Beijing, such as HSBC, BP, and GSK. The representatives expressed optimism about Beijing's development prospects and market potential. They cared a lot about the implementation of the "Two Zones" policies and made suggestions on how to further improve Beijing's business environment.

Sir Sherard Louis Cowper-Coles, Chair of the China-Britain Business Council, delivered a speech via video link. He expressed his appreciation to Beijing for building an effective communication platform for UK-funded companies in Beijing, and spoke highly of the city's business environment. Before the event, representatives of the enterprises visited the Lize Financial Business District and learned about the details of the development planning and investment promotion policies of Fengtai District.
