To tell engaging stories about Beijing and make its voice heard, the Translation and Interpretation Center of Beijing Foreign Affairs Office, in collaboration with China Academy for Public Policy Translation of Beijing International Studies University, has initiated a series titled “Understand Beijing: One Key Phrase a Day”. From this year’s Beijing Government Work Report, thirty seven trending policy buzzwords have been selected. Their elucidation, along with the official translation, is now being published to highlight the significant measures Beijing has undertaken in pursuit of high-quality development and the resultant achievements. Through this series, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of our city among foreign institutions and nationals in Beijing.

The "Beijing Services" initiative

This is an initiative that represents Beijing's strong commitment to fostering a more favorable business environment.

In November, 2023, Beijing issued guidelines on enhancing the ease of doing business, introducing "Beijing Services" as a distinctive brand for the services it provides. The document sets the course for improving citywide business environment both presently and for the years to come, with the primary goal to create a more positive experience for businesses and the public.  

Building on the "Beijing Standards", "Beijing Efficiency" and "Trustworthy Beijing", Beijing Services aims to become globally recognized standards for quality. It ensures that businesses and the public enjoy effective and easily accessible services, thereby supporting the capital's advancement towards a more quality-based development.
