On the morning of March 18, the Executive Committee of Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) held a plenary meeting, planning and deploying the preparatory work for the 2022 ZGC Forum. Cai Qi, Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Director of the Executive Committee presided over the meeting. Xu Lin, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Minister of the State Council Information Office and Deputy Director of the Executive Committee, Wang Zhigang, Minister of Science and Technology and Executive Director of the Executive Committee, Xiao Yaqing, Minister of Industry and Information Technology and Executive Director of the Executive Committee, Hao Peng, Chairman of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and Executive Director of the Executive Committee, Hou Jianguo, President of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Executive Director of the Executive Committee, Li Xiaohong, President of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Executive Director of the Executive Committee, Zhang Yuzhuo, Vice President in charge of daily work and Chief Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Association for Science and Technology and Executive Director of the Executive Committee, Chen Jining, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, Mayor of Beijing and Executive Director of the Executive Committee, and Lin Nianxiu,Vice Chairman of National Development and Reform Commission and Executive Director of the Executive Committee, attended the meeting.

The meeting pointed out that the ZGC Forum is a state-level platform for global exchanges and cooperation on sci-tech innovation. A successful 2022 ZGC Forum will help fully demonstrate China's open and cooperative image in global sci-tech innovation exchanges and promote efforts to foster a new development paradigm. The Committee will further enhance its big-picture thinking, and fully value and leverage the significance of ZGC Forum for the overall development of the Party and the country from a strategic perspective. It will act with a greater sense of responsibility and urgency and advance preparatory work by higher standards, so as to make new contributions to global exchanges and cooperation on sci-tech innovation.

The meeting emphasized the importance of speeding up efforts to refine the planning of the Forum and work out the details for preparations and services. Key events such as the opening ceremony and the exhibition tour should be planned early. Meticulous efforts should be made to plan parallel forums such as signature forums and innovative forums. Representatives of international sci-tech organizations, the world's top scientists, renowned entrepreneurs, investors and other industrial leaders will be invited to deliver keynote speeches in an effort to enhance the Forum's international influence. It is important to make the Exhibition of ZGC Forum (China Beijing International High-Tech Expo) and Zhongguancun International Frontier Technology Innovation Competition a great success, plan high-standard results release events, and vigorously promote technology transactions as well as the signing and launch of more sci-tech projects, so as to showcase Beijing's achievements in building itself into an international sci-tech innovation center.

The meeting emphasized that epidemic prevention and control measures must be strictly implemented, epidemic response plans and contingency plans be formulated and refined, and various risks and hidden dangers be screened and eliminated, to ensure the safety of the Forum. Promotion campaigns will be conducted in advance to attract international attention. Activities for the Forum will be carried out on a regular basis to guarantee that there are activities every month and highlights every season. The Office of the Executive Committee should strengthen overall planning and coordination so that each working group performs its duties and each district and department works proactively for greater synergy.

Deputy Executive Directors and Deputy Directors of the Executive Committee, members of "One Office and Ten Dedicated Working Groups" of the Executive Committee, leading officials from relevant central and state organs, municipal departments, and districts attended the meeting.
