On the afternoon of March 27, 2021, Chen Jining, Mayor of Beijing met online with Sharon Thorne, Global Board Chair of Deloitte. They witnessed the signing ceremony for establishing Deloitte University in Huairou District, Beijing.

Chen Jining said Deloitte made a decision out of strategic vision to establish a Deloitte University in Huairou, a beautiful place for international conferences. He hoped that after signing the agreement, the relevant parties would accelerate the construction of the university and match the mature training courses of Deloitte University with China's need to provide intellectual support for professional services in Beijing and across the country. Chen also encouraged Deloitte to give full play to its advantages and participate in Beijing's building of the "two zones" by providing quality, world-class and professional consulting services in the fields of green and low-carbon development and carbon neutrality. "We will support the development of the university, and pursue a higher level of mutual benefit," said Chen Jining.   

Sharon Thorne referred to China as the core of Deloitte's development in Asia, and said that China made remarkable achievements in fighting COVID-19. According to her, Deloitte will take an active part in Beijing's building of the "two zones" and help cultivate talent through professional education to boost Beijing's high-quality development.  

Witnessed by Chen Jining and Sharon Thorne, Huairou District, BBMG Corporation and Deloitte signed the Cooperation Framework Agreement on Deloitte University. 

Vice Mayor and Secretary General of the Municipal Government Jin Wei also attended the meeting.
