On the afternoon of June 10, Cai Qi, Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, had an online meeting with Peter Voser, Chairman of ABB Group.

Cai Qi talked about Beijing's progress in promoting COVID-19 response and the resumption of business activities. He noted that the situation in Beijing has been improving, with emergency response level lowered to Level III, and all parameters of economy are showing signs of recovery as business operations on all fronts are conducted along with regular outbreak control measures. As the only city designated for the country's comprehensive pilot program of further opening up the service sector, Beijing has been committed to improving its business environment and striving to provide better services for foreign businesses and investors. It is hoped that ABB Group would stay confident about its development in Beijing, respond actively to the negative impact of COVID-19, and strive to increase its presence in the Chinese market. As a leader in intelligent manufacturing, ABB Group should also set a good example to other enterprises in making digital and smart transformations and working together to advance technological innovation and the industry's development. China's new infrastructure initiative presents plenty of opportunities to Beijing. ABB Group is welcome to scale up its investment and business operations in Beijing and provide competitive products, technologies and solutions for Beijing's endeavor to develop new information infrastructure and make traditional infrastructure smarter.

Peter Voser spoke highly of what Beijing has achieved in COVID-19 outbreak control and resumption of business activities, saying that he has full confidence in the Chinese market. Going forward, ABB Group will leverage its strengths in technologies and products, invest more in Beijing, and seek more cooperation in such fields as intelligent manufacturing, digital transportation, artificial intelligence, new energy and big data.

Other municipal leaders attending the meeting included Cui Shuqiang and Yin Yong.
