Cai Qi talked about how Beijing had been advancing epidemic control measures while boosting economic and social development. According to him, Beijing is now working on regular epidemic containment on the one hand and striving to restore good order of work and life on the other, going all out for the resumption of production by effectively implementing policies that help and benefit companies in need and address major difficulties that enterprises now face. Beijing will make further efforts to improve its business environment, shorten the negative list of foreign investment, and make better use of the advantages of running both a pilot program for further opening up the service sector and a pilot free trade zone, so as to promote greater openness. Cai Qi expressed the hope that Schneider, with strong confidence in Beijing, would increase investment in the city to establish its global R&D and manufacturing center here as soon as possible and add to its production capacity, take an active part in the digitalization of traditional industries in Beijing, participate in infrastructure and other major construction projects in Beijing by leveraging its advantages in energy management and automation, put more intelligent logistics systems into use in Beijing to deliver more benefits to upstream and downstream enterprises and jointly ensure stability of the industrial chain and supply chain, attract more upstream and downstream companies to the new intelligent manufacturing park in Beijing to form a cluster, and help communicate the development environment and investment opportunities in post-COVID-19 Beijing to peer companies so that more foreign enterprises can come here for better development.

Jean-Pascal Tricoire spoke highly of Beijing's achievements in containing the epidemic and promoting economic and social development and thanked relevant authorities of Beijing for the support they offered for the resumption of work and production at Schneider's Beijing facilities. He said that Schneider would increase investment and build its presence in Beijing; it would also take an active part in the construction of Beijing's sub-center and preparations for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to be held in 2022, and expand and deepen its cooperation with relevant parties in Beijing for the digitalization of traditional industries, as well as for intelligent manufacturing, green technology, and talent cultivation.

Other municipal leaders attending the meeting included Cui Shuqiang and Yin Yong.
