On April 28, Fengtai District held the fifth plenary meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Fengtai District Committee in 2023 and the plenary meeting of the Leading Group for Improving Fengtai District’s Role in Building the Center for International Exchanges. The meeting was chaired by Wang Shaofeng, Secretary of the CPC Fengtai District Committee, Director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Fengtai District Committee, and Head of the Leading Group for Improving Fengtai District’s Role in Building the Center for International Exchanges. Attendees also included Chu Junwei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Fengtai District Committee and District Mayor.

The meeting called for adherence to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thorough implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, deep understanding of the new conditions and tasks facing foreign affairs, and concrete action in line with the plans and requirements of the Party Central Committee and the Beijing Municipal Party Committee on foreign affairs by focusing on strengthening the function of the “four centers” of the capital, especially the center for international exchanges. To scale new heights in the foreign affairs of the district, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Fengtai District Committee should enhance the top-level design and overall progress, the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Fengtai District Committee should assume a larger role in coordination and ensure progress in work, while competent authorities should intensify their efforts in the research, planning, and implementation of key tasks.

The meeting stressed the need to uphold the highest standards while pushing foreign affairs to a new level; to fully utilize Fengtai’s strength as the central area and complete the key tasks of improving Beijing’s role as a center for international exchanges in 2023 with a strong sense of responsibility; and to empower the economy with foreign affairs, development through openness, and high-quality growth of Fengtai with foreign affairs resources.

In addition to conveying the gist of the plenary meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the plenary meeting of the Leading Group for Improving Beijing’s Role as the Center for International Exchanges, this meeting also reviewed such items as the 2023 work plans of both the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Fengtai District Committee and the Leading Group for Improving Fengtai District’s Role in Building the Center for International Exchanges.
